From the backyard

Walked to the top of a tall hill behind my house the other morning at sunrise, around 7:30 am. I finally gave up waiting for the sun to come out from behind the clouds for the perfect light and walked down the mountain. Murphy's Law still applies in Ukraine, and the sun came out.
Still, I got something interesting out of it.

Michael,

Funny that you should leave this comment just now. I realize now that we will make it, if I can only wait long enough. Too often I am so engrossed in the moment that I can hardly see beyond it. I want to be able to go out and photograph mountains again, and be wild and free like in the days of old!!! Master's degree is fun, but so much work, I want to live again!!!!

This photo reminds me of the slum-like settings of some post-apocalyptic stories. Children of Men and Half-Life 2 come immediately to mind. Garbage in the street and old barely-running cars would complete the image.
